Primer - One of syfy's most fascinating conundrums I REVIEW

(Spoiler-Free)

For one, i like the no bullshit approach, just get right to the point.

I legitimately love this film asthetically, you can tell that it was made on a low budget, with serious constraints, but it feels like everyone gave it their all and they created a very cute film.

The production design, the locations, the story, i can tell definetly all those were made on a budget, its not like they were able to masuk this off as A colossal million dollar production, but to be perfectly honest i love what shows up on the screen, i love what resulted out of the resources so that its a pleasant aestethic and i really would not like this film to be any other way.

This is something where i dont need to go over each single aspect and be like well for a movie of this budget, this is pretty good. I feel like that would be a disservice to the films qualities, because it just is.

Its got great cinematography, a great story, great acting, great color correction, great editing. It's just great, and not just for a movie like this.

One certain irrelevant but nonetheless impressive fact i should remark, is how this film was produced, directed, musicalized, written and starred, all by the same person; Shane Carruth. What a one man army he is, what an accomplishment hes pulled off. Its impressive how he srorms in with such a strong signature voice right away. Incredibly talented author.

Its a very fast placed story with constantly changing locations and stakes and pretty intellecually unforgiving too. This must be the closest movie that simply screams to be watched and rewatched múltiple times. I love how the writing is such that its just a little difficult to get behind everything all the time. its still a pretty greatly written story in movie format, by all means, but that means they did not cut corners on technicisms, and they sink their teeth in this technology world right away, thats a very enhancing layer of genuinity, i love it when a writter has an entire field to show me and bring to the table, but i get that for some that may be a turn off.

Its just that when a movie makes me feel like its smarter than me i humbly take it, i dont want them to dumb it down for me so i can be spoon feed everything. I wouldn't want every thing i watch to feel beneath my intelectual capabilities, that should not be the state of an entire industry, and we should not immediately crack down on things that leave us spining in the air, granted they have done so whithin the margins of art form they are working on, which this film certainly does, thats the key to its greatness.

Its okay even, if you dont get into the scyfy experience entirely, this film also offers a gorgeous and stimulating portrayal of what seem to be a team of ordinary guys, restlessly working on something they believe in, something far bigger than they are, giving it their all with all they can, thats a perfect metaphore for what this movie is.

Thats what you like me most cernainly will connect with, nonetheless its fascinating, intriguing and a truly exceptional piece of science fiction and time travel, like truly, one for the ages, its for sure one of the best time travel stories i can think of and it should be remembered as that.

8.5/10
